Students in our undergraduate teacher education programs work toward their teaching license and their arts and sciences major concurrently.
These future teachers are extremely strong academically, having been selected from the top half of students in their respective arts and sciences departments. Admission to the "MA+" programs (master's degree plus a teaching licensure) is even more selective because these intensive programs are limited to cohorts of 25. Graduates from all of these programs are in high demand and oftenhave jobs before they leave student teaching.
Master's and PhD students are recruited nationally. U.S. News and World Report ranked the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Education 18th in the nation in selectivity of graduate admissions (among 250 colleges of education rated). With a student faculty ratio of only seven students per faculty member, graduate students are the special beneficiaries of the school's small size and emphasis on collaborative research.
